Lobby Day!

April 14, 2011

Hi everyone!
We are very much anticipating the next Lobby Day which will take place in Springfield on May 4th, 2011. For those of you who are not familiar with Lobby Day, it is an awe-inspiring experience where union workers from all over the state come together to support reform for our public school systems. You listen to inspiring speakers, march around the capital, and become amazed at seeing the large number of people at this event! It is a unique experience, and for those of you seeking to become politically active, I encourage all of you to attend! I went last year during the pension- plan crisis, and it was AMAZING! I’m definitely going this year too.

This counts for a political action sticker, and is a great opportunity to learn some knowledge about your profession. I need to know if you are attending by THIS UPCOMING MONDAY, APRIL 17th!!!!!!

Thanks so much and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks again!

Your country needs you.” –President Barack Obama

The Student Program is now on Twitter

August 21, 2010

Besides being able to find information on the Illinois Education Association Student Program website, ieasp.org, there is now another way for the state officer team to efficiently communicate important information to members across the state. By following the Student Program on Twitter, you will be notified of the important happenings of the student program and you will also be able to connect with members across the state. Please follow us on Twitter by searching for the username IEASP1750. The Retired Mentor Program also has a Twitter account, IEARMP. We ask that you follow them as well to get information about the Mentor Program, one of your MANY benefits and one which I personally recommend taking advantage of all 4 years in the program.
